Winter skin care

Dry air, heating in the house, the office, the car... hot showers to warm the chill out of my bones. Yep winter has a way of ravaging my skin pretty quickly leaving it looking a bit ashy and tired. Which is where this beautiful mask comes in. It combines clay with oils to make use of the Oil Cleansing Method for a soap free deep skin cleanse.

Australian Red Clay is a wonderfully detoxifying and revitalising clay, perfect for tired winter skin. Together with Avocado Oil which has a concentration of vitamins A, B1, B2, D & E, fatty acids (particularly omega 3 & 6) and proteins making it suitable for skin regeneration and reduction of scars and dark spots. It penetrates deep into the skin and can promote the production of collagen and is therefore essential for aging skin. It is also suitable for sensitive skin. Chamomile essential oil is soothing, anti-inflammatory and helps reduce puffiness and any dry red irritation from the harsh winter air.

The Mask

  • Australian Red Clay

  • Hibiscus Exfoliant

  • Avocado Oil - Cold Pressed

  • Castor Oil

  • Jojoba Oil

  • Chamomile Essential Oil

  • Lavender Essential Oil

  • Charcoal Powder (optional)

The ingredients need to be well stirred to ensure no lumps have formed, only adding enough oil to form a smooth thick paste. On clean skin (oil cleanse once before) apply the mask. Leave on for a minimum of 10 minutes, longer if you plan to relax in a bath. Once you are ready to wash off, rub the mask into the skin. The hibiscus exfoliant powder acts as a gentle scrub. With a hot wash cloth in the same way we oil cleanse, remove the remaining mask. If adding charcoal powder be careful as it can get messy and stain.

The mask can be made ahead and stored as it doesn't contain any water. Make in small batches and add to your weekly self-care skincare routine.
